Abstract for "MEDIUMSHIP: Communication with the Spirit World"

This short lecture intends to give an insight to Mediumship which in many dictionaries define as the ability of a person (the medium, channeller) to produce psychic phenomena of a mental or physical nature. The term is usually used to denote a person who is thought to be able to facilitate communication with spirits of the deceased or other non-corporeal entities, either by going into a trance and allowing a spirit to use their body, or by using extrasensory perception to relay messages from the spirits.

In trying to make it as short and sweet as possible, I intend to discuss the very nature of this perception as to define it to class, characteristics or observances found in the normal, human scenario..

In so doing, I could also discuss the popular ways of communication as in trance, séance or spontaneous dissociation or by citing some examples thru history of the Spiritualist movement to today’s contemporary phenomena.

In this lecture I do not intend to make conclusive remarks to mediumistic qualities of people, rather, I would like to give an overview of the qualities why there are people who are mediums and “postmans” of the spirit world, and that such may be a way necessary for man’s inevitable evolution..
